West Capitol Hill  

In 1996, the RDA created the West Capitol Hill Project Area. The project area includes a total of 88 acres of privately owned property, containing a mix of residential, commercial and light industrial uses. The RDA's main focus for the West Capitol Hill Project Area is to stabilize the residential neighborhood while strengthening the commercial business corridor along 300 West. There are many opportunities for building renovation and new construction in the project area.                                                       

From the complete rehabilitation of housing on Pugsley Street to construction of the Brooklyn Condominiums, the RDA has participated in numerous projects in the area. The new Marmalade project which consists of three commercial buildings, is currently underway on the west side of 300 West, between 500 North and 600 North. The RDA also participated in the new Reed Avenue development (750 N. Reed Avenue), which consists of three live-work housing units and one single-family home. This was completed in Spring 2010.
